It sounds like humming, but oscillating--meaning it sounds like hum-silence-hum-silence at about 4 hums per second. 2. Noise is most noticeable at 65mph, gets higher in pitch and louder with speed. 3. Does not change with engine RPM. 4. Is not gear dependent.

It's just the brake pedal re-seating on the brake switch or the piston returning to "rest" in the master cylinder. I guess my last $25-$30K vehicle from another manufacturer is of the same "low quality" a my current $25-$30K car from Subaru. The most pronounced clicking comes while I am making a sharp left turn, like a U-turn. However, it can also happen when I put it in gear, when I reverse after having moved forward, or when I move forward after having reversed. I don't know much about cars, but I'm trying to learn more. It was less than $100. If you're hearing noises behind the dash when the fan is off, that's the blend door getting stuck trying to change positions. My car does this now. It's annoying. It's on my list to fix. Just not at the top of it. I've had a tab opened on my phone on how to fix the blend door noise for weeks.Thought the sound was more on the left side that right. On our MY18, I've done a couple things to quell that : 1) switched engine oil to Castrol Syntec 5w-30. 2) replaced 2 driver's side Vvt actuators (ours were leaky, this got rid of a lot of noise on that side) 3) use chevron techron concentrate annually to keep carbon deposits down and detonation quality high. regards.You don't need a third-party app to drown out noise.
