Having used, Revit Server, Vault, BIM 360 Team and now BIM 360 Docs, I can say Docs is the superior platform. Not only is it faster to open models from the cloud then any Revit Server it has things Server does not. It can backup Revit models via Publish and Relinquish Elements via Manage Cloud Models.
If your non-Revit software needs don't preclude having your own server (RISA, Bentley, etc.) then BIM 360/ACC is the better option.
