I've been using Lucid ENB as a substitute for Rudy since I switched to Cathedral Weathers. I didn't have much hope for it because it looked 'meh'. But then I saw your WIP photos with Cathedral Weathers and it blew my mind. Looked way better than my tweaked NVT ENB or Lucid ENB setup. Cheers! :D

So I have enb and cathedral weathers installed (there are more mods, but I think it's these two causing the problem) and when I change the ingame settings (~ and then shift+enter) AmbientLightingIntensity Night, InteriorDay and InteriorNight in the weather tab it works just fine, but it keeps resetting after travelling to a different location or restarting the game.
IMO Cathedral Weathers is the best weather mod for SSE. I use Silent Horizons as for me it's the best looking for CW. Rudy doesn't have a CW version. There are some decent reshades out there, but I still prefer ENB. Another decent option for CW is Lucid ENB, which outperforms Silent Horizons as far as fps is concerned.

Two other contenders that have a lot of personal flavor from their authors are Picturesque and Haze. Both come with unique weather plugins and ENB presets. Subjectively, Picturesque is a much better ENB preset (it's by the Aequinoctium mod author), but the Haze author did some really amazing work with their weather. true.Less atmosphere than Rudy but more clarity. The ENB ({Rudy ENB for Cathedral Weathers}) definitely needs some tweaks to night and interior brightness depending on the interior lighting setup you choose, and make sure to back SSAO way down to 0.05 (or eliminate it entirely if you choose), and some weathers still don’t look quite right with our lack of volumetric lighting.
