JAKL 300 Blackout Subsonic . Hey, all! I'm a fan of PSA and just got a can out of jail, so I figured I would get the PSA JAKL. Unfortunately, it looks like it might have some issues with subsonic .300. Can anyone speak from experience if that's a regular problem or just a teething issue?

I recently got a 300 blackout upper and it will not cycle anything at all, basically works as a single shot with manually having to run the charging handle and hitting mag release to chamber next round.PSA makes and sells a JAKL bolt catch for $20, or you can take a Dremmel to a normal one and hog out the backside until it fits. Is this kind of a weird quirk and a bit annoying? Yes. Does it really make a difference in the long run? Not at all. LOOSE ROUNDS. The JAKL is cool. Very cool. It looks great, it shoots well, and it runs wonderfully.
Also requires its own bolt hold open. The BRN-180 is just an upper. The 10.5 BRN-180 is wonderful to shoot and performs much better suppressed. The Jakl reminds me of a next generation AK. It requires more gas to move a heavier carrier than the BRN. Greedy_Analyst_9603. • 4 mo. ago. I have both the 556 13.7 pin & welded and the 300 Blackout Jakl. I have to say the 556 shoots really nice suppressed with the right gas setting. It is by far my favorite gun to shoot suppressed. As for the 300 Blackout shooting it suppressed I did get gas to the face even when adjusting the gas.
