Best LBG not considering elements is most likely going to be the Narga LBG. It outclasses the Barroth one when fully upgraded. Not only does it have awesome raw but it has a 2 slot deco and like 40% affinity naturally. Personally I've been trying my damndest to make a Shrapnel build that can match the damage of Pierce but I can't quite get there.

2. World LBG are great if you played the correct ammo type/build, but they are mostly overshadowed by HBG. Elemental LBG are also better than HBG in World in most cases. 3. Pierce LBG has always been good since Iceborne and are even more powerful then ever. Thanks you, have some internet points. Pierce level 1, with slugger 1. And level 3 slot. You might be able to swap that since pierce is a deco. If you get a tali with a level two of something you need and a two slot you can shove something else in your build. With that much affinity you should be running CB3.

With my pierce LBG build i can clear it in 8-9 minutes as that fight is laughable with a ranged weapon ... Spare shot is much worse in MHR than it was in World/Iceborne. The most recent patch in sunbreak fixed "elemental reload" - Before we can get away with equipping it and not havign any penalty - now .. it makes our reload...Ive started dipping my toes into hbg after really enjoying my lbg build. Im usimg the barioth hbg with a pierce build. The sticky threads build has ammo up 3 and recommends looking at spare shot next. Primordial Malzeno's LBG (Pierce 2 RF): It's straight better than Malzeno's LBG, which was already quite OP. This weapon pretty much overshadows Pierce HBG for non-speedrunners. I'd argue that the comfort and mobility of LBG makes up for the small damage difference between the two, especially in singleplayer hunts.
