I installed the VCMuzzler at about 95k miles and spool valve was not leaking at the time, but started leaking around 160k. When putting the new one on I used silicone gasket maker to seal it. It's still leaking. The dealer diagnosis: Spool Valve oil leak shorted alternator, and with no juice to charge it, the battery died. The dealer is replacing the "spool valve", the alternator, and the battery.
