Answer 1 of 7: Looking to go to a Majestic Resort in August of 2012! Both resorts look great. I am leaning more towards Colonial due to the pools being larger & more of them. Restaurant & Bars seem to be about the same in the resorts. We are a couple in...Been to the elegance and the mirage but this year already booked the lopesan in February, by far a way better price for what seems like same beach and food. The Splash is located behind the Royalton Punta Cana. A shuttle is provided to bring you to the beach area. The Elegance is slightly more elegant but the Colonial has more of a family vibe. They are next to each other, so the beach is the same. Both are lush and tropical as well as compact.

The food at the two is comparable. At times Excellence might be a little better, but Elegance has more variety and choices. Night life we found really boring at Ex. , and quite enjoyable at Majestic. I don't know where you got the idea that ME is more "crowded", unless you are talking about the beach. I assume you are looking at the Colonial Club section.
