Being lighter isn't totally an advantage either. It kicks more, making it less smooth for quick following shots. So, IMHO (if it's worth anything), 1301 is a great shotgun for HD with an excellent value, but it is still not at the same level with M4. M3 is just cool. 1301 no issues. 940 pro is cool because it is 24 inch so you can shoot clays most places and has the most adjustable stock. In Canada the prices for these guns differ around 600 each, 940 is $1600 Cad reg price. 1301 is around $1600-2k. M4 is anywhere from $2500 on a sale to 3k.

The double is easier on my shoulder but the 1301 gives more rounds before a reload. Arthritis has made a pump hurt racking the slide, also fast arm movement to draw a pistol hurts. A 1301 cross slung seems to cause the smallest amount of discomfort.
