For survivability. Most decks on DS don't even get to tank up to 10 hits. Armor has 2s and able to tank 2 Zeal hits (with or without health hits depending if the build is a Berserker build) and is considered to be a really good deck. Compared to other health decks, Muscle get's health regen and around 460 health if I remember correctly.

Since the grace period is 0.35s, this is worth 5 more shots: treating t = 0s as the time your armor broke, the invuln would cover t = 0.35, 0.7, 1.05, 1.4, 1.75s, and the grace period covers the rest anyway. So Armorer effectively tanks 7 hits with its invuln ready.
