With the recent passing of Aquatics Supervisor Amber Wyatt and Parks Supervisor John Sibthorp in a serious vehicle... They both eventually ended up working for Ventura City where they continued pursuing the work they were passionate about. They were inspirations to the people they worked with, and they cared so much about the work they did. Amber and John will be missed a tremendous amount, but they will never be forgotten, and they will always be in our hearts. The seventh appeared in 1830, after Smith’s death, and the remaining three were produced by John Lindley between 1833 and 1840. Another member of the family, Ralph Waldo Sibthorp (1792–1879), a grandson of Dr Humphrey Sibthorp, was a well-known English divine. He was educated at Oxford and took Anglican orders in 1815.

John Sibthorp was the only son of Humphrey Sibthorp (1712-97) and his second wife, the daughter of a rich London merchant. John would eventually receive a substantial inheritance from his mother's estates when she died in 1780. John was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford, and Lincoln Grammar School.

John Sibthorp (1758–96) and Ferdinand Bauer (1760–1826) explored the eastern Mediterranean between 1786 and 1787, collecting specimens and seeds, and making field sketches.
