I recently purchased a non-integrated treadmill and am currently using the peloton app on an old iPad that stays on the treadmill (fake integrated?). I really enjoy the content but didn't want to strap myself to one brand. If something new or cool comes out I can simply cancel the $12 peloton app and download whatever is new.
