I know Toxin is considered one of the best bonus elements if you want to use only 1 elemental mod to save mod slots (can create Viral, Corrosive and Gas). Heat is good if you want to combine 2 elemental mods that don’t interfere with the bonus element to give a weapon a good extra combined status effect (Heat + Viral, Corrosive or Magnetic).The best element is what you want to build for, so how useful Radiation, Magnetic, Impact will be will depend on your preferences. If you have a set build in mind, a primary element is safer to pick. If you plan on mixing elements a lot, you may want something more neutral.
