OK, the load data that Hodgdon gave you should have specified a wad. If they were talking Winchester, the WAA12L is gray and, and CB equivalent is the gray wad CB0178-12 If they suggested the WAAA12SL, which is pink, the CB equivalent is CB1100-12. Also pink. Normally, those 2 gray wads work best with 7/8 ounce shot.

AFAIK, the Winchester 980 fps load can only be duplicated with WaaLite powder. The Hodgdon site still lists loads for WaaLite, but it is no longer manufactured. You can find data for subsonic loads, and they will recoil less than a standard 1200 fps load, but the 980 load was and is a one off load. I've attached Ballistics pdf on subsonic loads.

Made in 3 sizes, they are a better fit than any of the others. The 1 oz. DRA-1 Pink wad, (Now a redish Color), is the absolute best fit in Win.
