In my limited experience I think of Kimber as the Bose of the 1911 world. Good stuff but overpriced for what it actually is because they advertise more. I think you need to watch out for Idiot Scratches to the frame as they will show more than other 1911's. You also have to watch the area aft of the ejection port for brass/copper marks, which can be removed with Hoppe's #9.

Try the magazines that came with the gun first, then buy more if they work for you.
