Space dismounts and the bird lands. no it doesn't. Spacebar makes the bird land then dismounts you. Hit the U key a couple of times, almost stops immediately. As mentioned above, use spacebar to dismount instead of 'E'. Also be ready to use your 'Stop" whistle (default 'Y') to stop it from wandering away.

Works for getting stone with the Doed and wood with beavers. I do it all the time. But the fastest way is to get like 3 Argys and have them follow while you ride the beaver/doed then unload your loot on them, full all 3 up and fly back to base.
If you actually know the answer, it would have been much more helpful to give it. And I think they could still be useful without riding. Dimorphodon aren't rideable, but boy do they make a good attack squad. Argentavis can still carry things, and could be useful on mountains. Clearly I want to fly them, but they aren't totally useful.
