Xbows high armor pierce will wreck shield hp of shielded units and will deliver much more damage to heavily armored units than bows ever will. My wildlings seem to do very well in sieges. Spear, axe, plus javelin sniping, and a very big shield with better body armor then even the trained spearman, and to top it off quick movement speed. Sturgian veteran warriors are probably pretty good. t5 crossbowmen are great at sniping enemy archers.
Going 50/50 linebreakers/spearmen is a great Infantry block. And druz champs are great cav that are one of the best seige units when dismounted. I wouldn't normally use sturgian archers but if you're going 100% sturgian units I might try using some archers. The Sturgians are supposed to be like the Nords and Vaegirs mixed together, but they definitely did not inherit that strong infantry from the Nords. i could recommend better units in general but i don't think there is a magic pill for careless players. sturgian infantry is the strongest btw, probably the only troop tree which i wouldn't consider just a meatwall to cover rangeds. strugia's cav isn't the best though and their archers are relatively bad. #8.
